The following steps will remove the password set in the Internet Explorer
Content Advisor and allow you to reset the password or disable the Content Advisor.
- Click on Start and choose Run, type in Regedit and select OK.
- Click on the plus sign to the left of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
- Continue to drill down, always clicking on the plus sign at the
left of the named key, through Software, Microsoft, Windows,
Current Version and Policies. - Click on the Ratings folder.
- In the right pane of the Regedit window, you’ll see an icon
called Key. Click on it and press Delete. This will clear the
Content Advisor password, but will not yet disable it. - Restart the computer and open Internet Explorer.
- Select Tools, Internet Options. Click the Content tab and click
on Disable. When asked for a password, just click on OK. You can
now re-enable the Content Advisor with a new password or leave it off.
